Cilegon, 7 October 2024 – PT Sentra Usahatama Jaya (SUJ) has officially launched the Kampung Majun Program in Kampung Lijajar, Tegalratu Village, Ciwandan District, Cilegon City. This program is a community empowerment initiative developed in collaboration with Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE) Tangguh Jaya as part of SUJ's commitment to creating economic value for the surrounding community through its Social Development Program (SDP).

 

Comprehensive Support from Start to Finish

To implement the program, SUJ conducted a series of training and capacity-building activities for the members of KUBE Tangguh Jaya, consisting of women representatives from Kampung Lijajar. The training included introducing business opportunities, conducting comparative studies at artisan locations, and practicing sewing fabric scraps into high-quality Majun products.

 

SUJ also provided materials in the form of fabric scraps to KUBE members and supervised production to ensure that the products met industrial standards. Additionally, SUJ facilitated product marketing by connecting KUBE Tangguh Jaya to both local markets and wider industrial partners.

 

Program Target Effective in Three Months

The program is designed to become effective and produce tangible results within three months. During this period, SUJ will actively assist KUBE members to ensure the initiative's success. Once the mentoring phase is complete, KUBE Tangguh Jaya is expected to operate independently, with its products ready to meet industrial market demands in Ciwandan and its surrounding areas.

 

Ernawati, Chairperson of KUBE Tangguh Jaya, expressed her gratitude to SUJ for this program. She stated that the initiative provides significant opportunities for housewives in Kampung Lijajar to improve their living standards and support their family’s economy. Similarly, Saeful Hadi, Head of RT 13/06, praised SUJ’s consistency in implementing impactful SDP activities that directly benefit the local community.

 

Dwi Agus Tersiertiono, People Culture Services (PCS) Department Manager at SUJ, emphasized that the Kampung Majun initiative is a tangible manifestation of the company's commitment to supporting community empowerment, especially in the economic sector.

 

"We not only provide training and raw materials but also ensure business sustainability by offering broad market opportunities for Majun products from KUBE Tangguh Jaya," Dwi explained.

 

Dwi added that the company has established partnerships with various business entities in Cilegon to support the marketing of Majun products. Through this program, SUJ hopes that the people of Lijajar will become more economically independent and continue to enhance their creativity in small and medium enterprises. This initiative also reflects the company’s tangible contribution to building sustainable community welfare.
